This Diwali, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 clashes with Singham Again in the cinemas. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, director Anees Bazmee revealed the intriguing decision to film two climaxes for the much-anticipated third part starring Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit. Bazmee shared that he kept the details of the plot tightly under wraps, disclosing minimal information to the cast.

Speaking to our publication, the filmmaker said, “We wanted to create two climaxes to keep everyone guessing. We didn’t want anything to be revealed. I didn’t want the climax to be spoiled. Usually, after the first show on the first day, everyone knows what the climax is. But I think people still enjoy watching the film and don’t want to spoil it for their friends and family. If they like the film, they’ll say, ‘No, no, you should go watch it.’ We don’t want to spoil that. I think that’s beautiful. And it’s the audience’s right. If they’ve paid so much money to watch the film and they’re giving us so much love, they should enjoy it.”

The filmmaker went onto reveal that the actors on the set weren’t aware of the fact that they were filming two different climaxes. “So, I didn’t reveal the story to many actors. I told some one thing, some another. And even the scriptwriters weren’t given the actual climax. We were shooting multiple climaxes. We were working, working, working. My God, you’d be wondering which climax was going to be the final one. They were confused from the very beginning. I wanted everyone else to be a little clueless. I wanted there to be an element of surprise. And in the film, itself, when the characters don’t know what’s going to happen next, it’s more fun. And the audience, too, would be guessing. Maybe, they had the wrong theories,” he continued.

He concluded, “So, all this fun was happening between us four or six people who knew the secret. And we shot it very secretly. The unit was huge, but we kept it very small. We confused people, told them lies, and had a lot of fun. After all, when you’re making a film, you should have fun, right? That’s why we spend 24 hours on it. If you’re not enjoying what you’re doing, then neither will those around you. I had a lot of fun with my team. We were joking, chatting, and enjoying ourselves.”

Directed by Anees Bazmee and initiated by Bhushan Kumar, the film gears up for a grand release this Diwali on November 1, 2024.

Bollywood keeper of the gendered space Shraddha Kapoor was also one of the viewers who confessed to being in a relationship, though the name of the man who stole her heart remained a mystery. Considering the answer to this question, Shraddha said, “I suppose you will have to call in my partner for this one; you will have to tell him to be brutally straightforward,” she smiled. “But I do believe that I have some traits of a Pisces which include: the fairy tale love. You know the one where you think that as long as I have you, I do not need anybody else. Of course, I also understand that there are realistic aspects in such relationships.”

Kapoor further shared some of the mundane things she enjoys with him. “I really enjoy his company whether we are watching a movie or going out for dinner or traveling. That’s one thing, I am a person who likes doing things with people or even doing nothing but being around the other person without doing anything.”

Besides love life, Shraddha also mentioned that it’s equally important to keep a close contact with her friends and family. “Even with my school friends, if we do not talk for some time, I feel low. Yesterday we had lunch as a family and it was such a great experience and refreshing. I feel that way about my relationships as well,” she explained.

When it comes to the matter of marriage, and understanding how she views them, Shraddha seemed to take an even-handed view. “It’s not so much about believing in marriage or not, it’s more about being with the right person. If a person is ready and wishes to change that or to marry anyone who is indeed committed to one person, then that is very good. If not, that’s fine too. It is about what suits you best.” As much as Shraddha has not revealed any details about her partner, there have been allegations connecting her to the screenwriter Rahul Mody.

However, neither Shraddha nor Rahul has accepted these allegations. Actor Shraddha Kapoor provides an intellectual viewpoint regarding love and companionship that is both romantic and practical, which I believe keeps her well-grounded even on-screen and off-screen.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra plans to re-release Shikara in 2025; recalls James Cameron watching the film in New Zealand: “He told me the film reminded him of Doctor Zhivago”

Cameron, renowned for his groundbreaking work on films like Avatar, was struck by a remarkable similarity between Shikara and his favourite film, Doctor Zhivago. This revelation came to light during a session at the IFP Season 14, where Chopra recounted his encounter with Cameron. Over a glass of wine, the two filmmakers connected on a profound level, sharing a mutual admiration for each other’s work. “I didn’t see the failure because when James Cameron saw the film in New Zealand, he walked up to me and said, ‘This film reminds me of my favourite film in the world, Doctor Zhivago,” he said.

Shikara, set against the backdrop of a tumultuous period in Kashmir’s history, had a profound impact on Cameron. The film’s themes of displacement, resilience, and the enduring power of the human spirit mirrored those found in Doctor Zhivago, a classic love story set against the backdrop of the Russian Revolution. “Three bottles of wine were arranged for us. He was in the middle of shooting ‘Avatar’ (sequel) and we drank till early hours of morning. That for me is success. Your success or failure comes from you. You need to do your best, if your best is not good enough, don’t worry, do it again,” Chopra said on October 12.

Chopra expressed his gratitude for Cameron’s recognition. He emphasized that true success extends beyond commercial metrics, often residing in the profound connections forged between a film and its audience. The filmmaker plans to re-release Shikara in 2025 with the original title Love Letter from Kashmir.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique was shot and killed on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang has since claimed responsibility for the murder. A viral Facebook post by a gang member indicated that the killing was linked to Siddique’s associations with Bollywood actor Salman Khan and underworld figures Dawood Ibrahim and Anuj Thapan. The post mentioned, “Salman Khan hum ye jung nahi chahate they, parantu tumne humare bhai ka nuksan karaya hai.”

The post read, “Om Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat. I understand the essence of life; I consider the body and wealth as mere dust. The only good deed was fulfilling my duty of friendship. Salman Khan, we did not want this war, but you harmed our brother… Today, Baba Siddique’s so-called decency is silent, though at one time he was linked to Dawood under the MCOCA Act. His death is tied to his connections between Anuj Thapan, Dawood, Bollywood, politics, and property dealings.”

“We have no enmity with anyone, but whoever assists Salman Khan or the Dawood gang should keep their accounts straight. If any of our brothers are harmed, we will respond. We have never attacked first… Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat,”  the post read in Hindi.

Earlier, two arrested shooters claimed to have connections with the notorious gang involved. According to reports, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde confirmed the arrest of two suspects in relation to the shooting. One suspect hails from Uttar Pradesh, and the other from Haryana, while a third attacker remains at large.

ANI reported that Baba Siddique was attacked near the office of his MLA son, Zeeshan Siddique, in Bandra, Mumbai. He was in critical condition when rushed to the hospital, with sources stating that two to three shots were fired at him around 9:30 pm.

At least six bullets were fired near Zeeshan Siddique’s office, with four hitting Baba Siddique in the chest. Authorities believe the attack could be a contract killing and have formed four special teams to lead the investigation into the case.

Salman visited Lilavati Hospital late on Saturday night to offer his condolences and meet the family of Siddique, who passed away from bullet injuries.

Security has been heightened outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartment, following the assassination of former minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique on Saturday evening. Footage revealed security personnel stationed outside the actor’s home.

The two suspects have been identified as Gurmail Singh from Haryana and Dharamraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh.

On Sunday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde declared that Baba Siddique would be given a state funeral with full honors.
